[For Abby]

I know there is a party going on. Everytime I pop my head out of the lab to (attempt to) grab a book from the shelf or something from the kitchen Im confronted with people in varying stages of formal dress, and I can hear the festivities going along quite smoothly without me. Abby had eaten, drunk, danced, and generally had a good time at the party, but eventually she'd noticed the conspicuous absence of one Dr. Bashir at the party. That, of course, simply would not do, because if he wasn't at the party, she couldn't flirt with him.

In an effort to rectify the situation, she picked up a cup of chicory coffee and a plate of beignets and went to the lab, where she found a distinctly frustrated-looking Julian.

"If it's possible for you to look more grumpy, I'm not sure I want to know," she informed him, putting the beignets and coffee down on a table behind him. The fact that this also managed to display the almost complete lack of a back on the lovely dress the box had given her was a complete coincidence.

I had been so engrossed with the task at hand that I didn't notice Abby until she was almost right on top of me. Whether it was the smell of the coffee or the sight of her bare back out of the corner of my eye that caught my attention I couldn't say. Both were a welcome distraction I'm a doctor, not an android, after all.

"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes."

Abby laughed and turned to face him, leaning against the lab bench comfortably despite the difference between this dress and her normal attire. The thin little heels were kind of annoying, but then chunky Docs wouldn't have really gone with the dress.

"Why, thank you," she chuckled. "I noticed you weren't at the party...so I thought I'd bring the party to you. Beignets and chicory coffee, apparently fresh from Cafe Du Monde itself."

"Don't ask how it works, it'll give you a headache, and you sort of look like you have one already."

"Thank you," I said, nursing the coffee. "I got a little involved in what I was doing, I might not have surfaced until the next party."
