FUCK CANON is all I have to say. You could totally just write the fic as you were planning, and slap a Divergent Timeline label on it. This is better by wide margins, anyway. XP

Well, to be fair, I agree with FUCK CANON most of the time these days. It's been what? A full year now that we've had nothing but zombies?

Anyway, thank you! <3 I'm thinking of rewriting it either as is or changing it so it's canon compliant. Then again, I have a shorter Gaara fic I'm working on that is definitely canon compliant, so maybe this one doesn't have to be, too . . . /rambles
