The whole damn thing. Am not doing that again. I think it shows how much I miss this fandom, that I'm willing to trudge through 550 chapters of horrifying source material just to be up-to-date. >.>
I do have actual, vaguely coherent, humanish things to say. But first:

If you would compare shinobi to some special troops, which they are in a way, then it would appear that Kakashi is actually teaching the kids how not to get themselves killed. Not a so bad guy then, huh? As for knowing about Sasuke's intentions... it's not like he was sure the kid would go for revenge. And in all honesty there was a chance that Sasuke wouldn't go for a revenge. The truth is that every teacher teaches kids something that might be used in a wrong way. But none of them assume that it will be surely used like that.
Your post was dominated by Sasuke, you know :P

There are definitely spots in the early parts where it looks like Sasuke might relax a little. But I just can't get past the fact that he straight-up introduced himself by saying that he wants to kill someone. I mean, that has to be a pretty big red flag right there. Especially for someone going into a profession that is going to end up giving them the skills needed to do just that. It's like . . . if Kakashi had sent him back to the Academy on the grounds that he's clearly psychologically unfit, none of this would have happened. (Granted, then there would also be no plot. But.) And I doubt Kakashi realized at the beginning just how strong Sasuke would become, so from his point of view, it's less that there's a danger of Sasuke killing Itachi -- which, given what Kakashi knows at that point, wouldn't really be a bad thing anyway -- and more that ( ... )

If Konoha had something like that, I think it probably would have made the process easier. I mean, the revenge itself isn't the problem per se; there's no reason for most people within Konoha to be upset about it if Itachi died. It's more that it would seem a lot more likely that Sasuke would hurt himself or some third party, instead of actually getting revenge on Itachi.
I guess it just seems like, given the high opportunity for risk involved, you would want to be a lot more careful than most of the people in this series (not just Kakashi in particular) seem to be. Especially given how much trouble missing-nins cause for their villages in this series. You would think people would want to be as careful as possible, to prevent that from happening.
Sasuke is slowly sliding into our reality it seems ( ... )

Like how most of the main characters in this series are per se child soldiers.
It's an excellent source of character development in my opinion. Although I kind of get why Kishi doesn't want to delve into that kinda stuff. If the rookies get hung up on that fact about missed childhoods and warped senses of reality, then we'd have multiple Sasukes running around. And goodness gracious, one Sasuke is already more than enough, haha!
Fics explore that a lot, though! ♥
Seriously, Hinata's really nice. I think that if someone were attacking me severely enough that I could die from it, I would use the damn seal.
It just builds up Hinata's character even more. It reinforces the fact that she did want to improve herself by her own volition and abilities.
There's nothing much to like about the OVER 9000 white Zetsus; they don't really get treated like individuals anyway.
I'm kinda curious about the original Zetsu, though. WTF is he, anyway?

Yeah, I can totally understand why he doesn't want to delve into it. But at the same time, I do feel baffled as to why he created such a universe in the first place, then. Or did he really never stop to think about what he was doing?
But yes, it really is a great starting point for fanfic. :D

True. And if nothing else, she would have felt horrible about it afterward if she had used it. (Especially if she'd managed to accidentally kill him.) I still really want to know whether Neji had thought that one through, though.

I'm wondering that so much. I mean, I assume the white half is just like the other white ones, but where did the black half come from? And who decided to attach the white half to him, and why?
