Before I moved to the North, I never thought it would make that much of a difference. But here it really feels like during the Winter months, it is dark all the time. It's 4pm now and it feels like four hours later.
On the other hand, daylight lasts longer during the Summer months, so that way we still get our fair share of sun.
But I can totally see why the percentage of depressed people and suicide rates get higher the farther you go up North. We simply have a dramatically lower level of vitamin D (unless we are smart and eat fish of course) and a fucked melatonin balance during Winter.
