Thank you for bringing the whole issue into the light. LJ is a big place and I'm not in the HP fandom so I wouldn't have seen this "discussion" if you hadn't been willing to take this public. Becoming a better person is a life-long project and you've made me think about a lot of issues in a very real way. I've been reading in my spare moments all day and thinking and doing some self-reflection.

Everything I've seen you write has been polite and factual without blunting the message and I know how much energy and restraint that entails. I know that isn't the first impulse when faced yet again with the need to educate. I know the argument has been made over and over and over. This is probably the 38927348926th time you've had to deal with this and that you aren't even the first to try to open people's minds. I know the patience is more than the Willfully Blind among us deserve. I value calm discourse and honesty because *I* learn better and incorporate the lesson into myself when it's delivered the way you did and I want to thank you for that. Because I know it wasn't easy.
