White Trash Tuesday- Chapter Fifty-Nine

Sean felt shitty and alone. He had been shunned.
Carrie and June were probably sitting together somewhere
laughing at him for being such a loser.

He had never been one of them. He envied their
closeness. They could hug each other whenever they wanted,
they could use pet names for each other. Sean did not feel
that close to anybody.

Carrie and June acted like they were sisters. Sean
thought of how he related to his sisters. A hug from either
of them was a rare occasion, especially from Love. Love was
distant and had become more distant after the dispute that
they had while sharing a house in Windsor. Sometimes the
affectionate teasing between him and his sisters was not
very affectionate.

When Carrie and June laughed together, it was special
some how. When Sean laughed with them, he still felt like
an outsider, only laughing because they were laughing. He
wondered if they knew that he was laughing because they were
laughing, and that sometimes he did not understand their
humour.

He was the child who was not allowed in the secret
club. He suspected them of whispering secrets behind closed
doors. They let him hang out with them, but he was not one
of them. He had always been only semi-included, and now he
was completely discluded.

He missed hanging out with them, despite never really
being one of them. He has always aspired to be one of them,
and now he was even further from this than before.
