Akanishi Jin ~ That AnAn interview translation

Oct 07, 2010 20:20

'Love' is part of life. It's precious, but it isn't extraodinary.

"When you say love, people talk about it like it's this incredibly amazing thing, but to me it's just natural. My image is that you need it to exist, just like you need water to live. Love for your family and love for your friends are part of life, aren't they? Romantic love is as well, it's equally a part of life. It's just in the case of romantic love, the process getting there is a little complicated."

The feeling of being in love can also be born from a shift in friendship, Akanishi-san.

"When even though you think 'I like them as a person, but I don't need them every day' you end up wanting them every day anyway, I guess that's how it happens. * But if you take the steps through dating, love is basic. Because you think you need to treat them as if they are precious, you want to share lots of time with them, and you want to meet their requests, I think."

So what do you need in a woman for you to adore her like that?

"Peacefulness. I want it to be really comfortable when we're together, and have a relaxed, peaceful connection. Of course there will also be times when we rock the boat a bit, or have little fights. I'm fine with that, that's just natural, but instead of thinking about it I would want them to talk to me. If you don't have that kind of easygoing relationship where you can talk about anything, I don't think love can really blossom. It's not about give and take, it's about giving to each other, that attitude is important. For me it can't last long without that feeling of friendship. It's best if you forget about being a 'man and woman' and just be comfortable [together]. Despite what you may think, maybe old couples are the ones who really feel in love."

Notes:

*I cut a line out here cause I was like @_@ the fuck, dude? Something about 'For example, you want to replenish water with coke'.

Wow, look at that! The least notes ever!

That was a nice interview. I can't help but feel cheated though. I thought I was going to be looking up naughty words I'd never heard before and reading about weird fetishes and raunchy sex tips. It's all up to you now, Yamapi. (psshhh, like hell I hear you sayin')

Can I just take a moment to say, you know how distracting it is trying to translate with peoples asses in your face?! I bet you they put the text on the ass page on purpose. Someone in the AnAn editing team was smirking quietly when that mag went to print, just imagine how suspicious you would look on the train trying to read it.
