Irreplaceable.

I know, it's been over a week since I last updated my blog..
Things have been crazyyy I tell you!

So yeah, the kindergarten project was due on the 18th, which meant pulling all-nighters to get it done. By doing so, everything was pretty much on track. I had everything planned out already.
However (!!!), my baby Mac decided to betray me on the night before submission! Argh stressssssss!!!
She has been the most reliable thing ever, who would expect her to do this to me at the eleventh hour??
To make matters worse, my stupid thumb drive decided to turn its back on me on the exact same day! WTH?? I don't get it la. Why? WHY??? :''(
Without my files and without my laptop, there's basically nothing I could do. Sooo I went to bed hoping, praying and wishing that the lecturers would be understanding enough to give me an emergency extension.

But did they?

HELL NO.

"It'll be considered as late submission. The most I can give you is 40%..."

Bengang nyaaa! Fine la you get this every semester, but this is my first time la okay? You think I sengaje want to give you excuses??
Don't you think I actually want to get this thing over and done with, instead of dragging this project with me? Grrr.
It's bad enough that I have to start all over again, whyyy la do you have to make things worse? I don't need any of this right now okay.

I got Amir to have a look at my laptop, and it turns out that my hard disk crashed.. *sigh* sob* *sigh*
Chances of getting my data back is sooo very the tipis. Adoi.
My whole life is in my laptop. I don't think I can go on without it.
When it first hit me, I cried at the thought of losing everything.
All my picturesss, documents, projects, chat historyyy, songs, bookmarks.............. GONE.
Now I'm constantly reminded of what I have in there, and how they are irreplaceable and when I get these sudden reminders, it makes me want to cry again.. :''(
Please la I have to get all my stuff back. I'd do anything. Huhuu..

And the lessons to be learnt from all this is:
1. Make backups for every little darn thing if it means a lot to you.
2. Get an external HD a.s.a.p.
3. Get a reliable thumb drive. No, it doesn't have to be pink and match your handphone! :-/
4. Upload all pictures to Flickr. And I mean ALL!
5. Save super important documents in Gmail drafts or some other online device thingy, so that no matter what happens to your laptop or thumb drive, your files will still be accessible wherever there is internet connection.
6. Even the most reliable thing ever can betray you, so be prepared and watch your back at all times!

So I got my laptop back last night, after two very meaningless days...

And here I am blogging from my very empty (data wise, not application wise) MacBook..
But looking on the bright side, it's now equipped with Mac OS X Leopard (woo hoo!), Parallels with WinXP (ngeeeee!) and Adobe CS3 (eheee!)

Here's to wishing I'll get all my data back! Then it'll be perfect! *fingers and toes crossed*
