Why is it that the first bell of the entire day, the one that signifies the commencement of first period, is played so low that over the hubbub of the morning crowd, someone...namely myself...sitting in the front hallway cannot hear it when it goes off?
Honestly, it wasn't really skin off my back. I chose not to attend class when I realized that Oh Canada was playing and that I was indeed late. I didn't want to have to go and pick up a late slip and deal with that whole shebang , so sitting in the library seemed like a nice alternative.
Hmm, turns out, my afternoon class was cancelled as well. I like the one class attendance of today.
Went trick or treating last night. There's nothing better than knowing you're still able to get free candy on Halloween when you are 5'8 tall and 18 years old. I put a fake pumpkin on my head and called it a day. People were so taken a back by my creativity (which mind you, I had none of since I've been a pumpkin head for four years straight due to sheer laziness of not wanting to go find myself a costume.) that they actually laughed to themselves and in their good mood gave me extra candy.
I'd like to say however that I am immensely dispointed in those people that ultimately lack Halloween spirit. What is this? How disheartening can it be for a youngster, all dressed up to trick or treat...em...namely me....out looking for house doors to knock upon and realizing that the houses are dark and no one is at home? Damn, stingy asses that the old folks of my neighborhood are. Halloween is one day a year. The least they could is buy a bag of peanuts even and humour the good clean fun that is trick or treating.
Bah. The bounty this year was by far not as plentiful as it was when I was younger. I know, I know, at least I received any at all. Shadap.
Shite, excitement of the day! I get the house to myself till late tonight! There's nothing more beautiful than that. If only my family would decide to perhaps stay away for a couple of days instead of solely a couple of hours.
