IMO, staying at home and doing literally nothing is one of the best vacations possible :)

We decided it was about materialism. And cleaning.

Devil the White City is about the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. It's about the struggles involved in building the fair, and also, about a serial murderer who took up residence not far from the fair location. It's really well-written and interesting - it's not a novel, although it reads as easily as one.

I'm going to Chicago in January and am eager to visit some of the sites.

Well as someone who went to Chicago for the release of HBP I can honestly tell you...I hope to God you're not driving..al;djfalsdjflasdjf...just kidding. Sorry, this gal doesn't get too far out of the cornfield. It sounds like an interesting book, I will have to add it to my list of things to read.

Plus while you're there...you could always look up our Lt. Cmdr. FrankieB...the head subbee could show you around.
