I can't believe that Thursday is almost over, and that my vacation is more than half over!!! ARGH!
I really wanted to go away somewhere this week (I have a friend who went to New Zealand), but now I am really glad that I stayed home. I feel like I've done nothing, which isn't entirely true. But I (almost) don't feel guilty about it either.
Saturday: Chanukah with my family
Sunday: Christmas with Q's family
Monday: Um... went to mall to help Q. look for shoes
Tuesday: Had dinner with sister
Wednesday: Um... ? I don't think I left the house except for a walk and a trip to the grocery store
Thursday: Went to museum in a.m.
What I've also been doing is sleeping until 9 every day (I usually wake up for work at 5:15), going on long walks around the neighborhood, spending time on the Sugar Quill, a little bit of "work", read a few books (I highly recommend Devil in the White City, and hanging out with the menagerie. Yesterday, Q. and I spent an hour trying to decipher the true meaning of Stairway to Heaven.
I think I could handle being independently wealthy. I guess eventually I would find a meaningful, charitable use of my time. But for now, I am really enjoying sitting around. I think it's going to be more difficult to come back from this "vacation" than if I had visited an exotic locale.
