So the wi-fi is fine. Nice and fast, totally unsecured (which is an unfortunate but necessary trade-off). It took me a couple of hours to realize that the reason I couldn't get the PS3 to log on was that you have to start by signing a click-through absolving the state of responsibility, which meant I couldn't use the net until I'd fired up the browser.
I'm settled in, for the moment. The room is pretty large and, aside from the cold tile floor (I'm used to a rubberized one from my UH days--it never seemed so chilly to sock feet) comfortable. I have it to myself "for now", meaning that I will likely end up with a roomie on the first of March or April as people come and gofirst of each month (I am, as is often the case, an exception). Right now the TV and PS3 are on the "room mate's" desk, but I've been otherwise scrupulous about keeping permanent fixtures on my side of the room--if all I have to do to get ready for a new person is to move those two items from the desk to my nightstand, it won't be a hassle.
My formal assessment starts bright and early Monday morning; until today, nobody had mentioned that there was a chance of being 'held back' and put thru the full Daily Living Skills course. (I could refuse, but would also be refusing the Career Guidance stuff and go home emptyhanded and with a very pissed caseworker).
