Fast GOTHAM KNIGHT review

Jul 11, 2008 03:06

It was okay.  Not as bad as Doomsday apparently was, nor up to the level of New Frontier.  The final Deadshot/Batman battle needed to be longer (the prospect of a Kawajiri-directed fight scene between Batman and one of my favorite DC characters was what got me to spend money on it in the first place).  The fourth segment, with the Scarecrow, was possibly my favorite.

It was nice to see that, after the "celebrity" casting of the last two movies, they went back to Kevin Conroy as THE voice of Batman, and generally just got traditional voice actors (I thought Rob Paulsen was semi-retired, and it was great to see both him and Corey Burton here).  This is probably because it was dubbed rather than pre-recorded, but it was still very cool to see.  They even found a spot for Will Friedle (who played Batman's "son" Terry McGinness in Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited).

Anyway, the "Batmanimatrix" was a cool experiment, but I'm glad to see that they're going back to a more Warner-traditional style for Wonder Woman.  I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, and if you have a Best Buy in the area and a theater that takes Hollywood Movie Money coupons, it's worth the $13 since it comes with a $3 coupon for when you see Dark Knight.  Probably not worth the $30 for Blu-Ray, though.

My new power supply should be here tomorrow/today.  Hopefully I can get an appointment to get it installed quick; it's getting a little old using my dad's PC or the PS3 for web stuff.
