Across the Universe
Is a great movie. A psychedelic romp through the 60s and the deranged minds of those who lived through those times, a world where the Beatles were not a band but a weave of music that ran across the decade. It starts off slow but explodes into one of the best movies of the year. It probably helps that I am a fan of the musical genre and the Beatles of course, but it's still a top notch movie. You should see it right now, just go from your computer and knock on the door to a theater until someone lets you in to see it. It's a delightful romp through time and space. The only downside it had was the old guy behind us talking, who got louder as the movie went on and exclaimed things like:
"Her name's Lucy! Like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."
"They're singing Hey Jude."
Although to be fair, the thing is insanely filled with little bits of Beatles trivia hidden in it.
Avatar is amazing, fucking amazing. Really truly perfectly amazing. I am stunned, shocked, and surprised by the things they've managed to pull off. This is one of the few TV shows were I can say in all honesty that the writers really do know best. I want my games to be like this show and am sad that they are not nearly as good.
