Haven't posted in forever- I really just haven't had time, which is kind of alarming because it's the beginning of the year. My schedule:

My oral went... about as well as it could have, I guess. We talked about self-knowledge and the neccessity thereof for telling good stories. I got to explicate the identity of Chaucer some more.

On the dark side, the SuperShuttle I was supposed to take to the airport showed up 20 minutes late. I found this out as I was sitting in a cab going to the airport, because the SuperShuttle driver called my cell phone angrily and asked me how he was going to get paid if I wasn't there. I'm still attempting to gather my thoughts on the France + Switzerland trip, and one of the things I was pondering was why on earth anyone from Europe would actually want to go sight-seeing in the US.
