I have a WOLF FULL OF SNAKES.
Mrs. Lasell was having a yardsale, and saw Rachel, Kristin, Esa and I gathered in the vicinity of a box of stuffed animals. I was exclaiming over how cute the tiny purple pachyderm was when she picked up the stuffed wolf in the box and gave us its history. Apparently, not only did this wolf originally belong to Mrs. Heines' kids (Mrs. Heines was my seminar tutor this year) it also has a zipper in its belly!
We must not have looked impressed enough, because she added, "You can put things in it. Like... snakes!" and she picks up a beanie baby snake and another plush snake and stuffs them into the wolf's belly. I was laughing so hard I was crying. She ended up giving it to me for free, although since the stuffed animals were only a dollar I think I'll pay her for them next time I see her. I bought the purple pachyderm, at least.
I think the best part was either that it was her idea to put the snakes in the wolf, or that when we were in the car driving to the next yardsale, John D. from camp called me and I was able to tell him that I had just received a WOLF FULL OF SNAKES. He was very impressed.
After going to a bunch of yardsales (I bought a nice t-shirt, a fashion scarf, a pan, and a wooden spoon) we came back and had a picnic on the St. John's front campus with Daniel and Will. It was delicious- beans and corn dip, guacamole, tortilla chips, cornbread, crackers, a chicken & grapefruit salad, lemonade, colby jack cheese melted on cranberry-orange bagels, and cookies.
I've got work in about an hour, so I figure I'll put my scavenged foam mattress pad on my bed (whoo, Chase-Stone looting! I also grabbed Kristin an abandoned computer chair) and then read some more of Diane Duane's Spock's World. Reading her Star Trek novels is like witnessing an orgy of competence- the Enterprise crew is definitely the cream of the crop, as befits a flagship.
But yes. WOLF FULL OF SNAKES.
