The past week

Wow, what a week...

My journeys into the wild went, for the most part, pretty well...not that you would've probably enjoyed them, but we 'yotes have a different definition of fun, I suppose. With perhaps the exception of one day, my inner coyote was quite enjoying himself (when it came to my outer human, things varied a bit). I return a bit scratched up (yes, even through my fur!), slightly sore in the joints, and with slightly roughed up paw pads, but otherwise no worse for the wear. It's quite amazing what five days away from civilization will do to your familiar "civilized" activities; typing remains a bit awkward to me right now. I also saw my sex drive disappear for the duration of the trip--I guess other sorts of exhaustion will do that to ya. I'm now trying to catch up, on a great many things...not the least of which is downloading pictures from the trip. Sadly, most of you will not get to see any...

I found out that a music teacher of mine who played a formative role in my early childhood (and who I kept in touch with for years afterward) passed away. Rest in peace...I'm a better person for having known you.

Moar family came to visit, and since said family members both are alcoholics and spent a fair amount of the time drinking, much drama ensued. I was around for enough of it to know that I'm damned glad I wasn't around for the rest of it (which I spent doing 'yotey things).

Happy 50th to my mother...now I can officially make lots of jokes about her being old. I know, I'm a terrible person...

I am officially back in touch with my SoCal friend, and can even email him now! Another friend has apparently booked a flight to visit me here for several days next month, which should be nice.

I hope everyone who went to MFF had a good time there...and happy gobble gobble day to everybody! It doesn't sound like my parents and I will likely be having much company, if any, but perhaps that's for the best.

hiking, friends, family
