I helped my mom decorate for Christmas this weekend. We ended up getting a very skinny tree this year; it's like looking at a mirror image. I'm able to do so much more than the last holidays when I was stuck in a chair while I watched everything take place around me. This October was super-great and event packed. I loved it! ("I love it, love it, love it!") It had me exhausted and crashing at 9:30 but it was so worth it.

Over the years, my mom has basically become my manager, helping me book various doctor's appointments and keeping everything as organized as possible. It's extremely overwhelming, and I don't know what I would do if it were all dumped on my shoulders. I consider myself lucky, in that aspect at least, for sure.

Two weeks ago I did a semi-sad thing.

I realized it was time to move on, and parted ways with my stereo. It hasn't been put to use in almost a year. It's a poor ol dusty lonely fool. I gave it to my aunt. Hopefully with her, it will be played as often as it had before, with me - even if it consists of mostly Luis Miguel albums.

This Christmas I got a TV

...along with Mortal Kombat Arma-fucking-geddon for my PS2 (yes, it's almost 2007 and I just got a PS2), five extra pounds and a couple of hours of much needed sleep.

It’s kind of hard not to fall in love with Bill Paxton’s monologue from the Twister ride in Universal Studios. His voice is so hoarse and slow and not meant to be taken seriously (i.e. Coconut Pete) Jamie probably does the best Bill Paxton impression I’ve ever heard and we both quote the Twister line at any available moment ( Read more... )
