I know I've been pretty quiet recently, I've been really busy with college and exams. Unfortunately this entry's pretty boring too as I'm basically listing a load of revision resources in a place where I can find them easily. Hopefully I'll have some actual content up soon, and who knows, this may be of some use to some people.
WJEC Specification English Literature - LT4 Poetry and Drama
Hamlet and The Revenger's Tragedy
- Comparisons of 'What a piece of work is a man' speech.
- Comparisons of the 'Fishmonger' scene.
- Hyperion to a Satyr blog. - really useful analysis of the different film productions.
- On the emagazine website, which it won't let me link to but it should come up in a Google search, there's a PDF of the top five Shakespeare websites. There's also an online edition of one of their magazine which I found pretty interesting to read, if not directly relevent to my exam.
- Sparknotes - the favourite of lazy students who never actually read the book. :-P It's okay if your struggling with the plot, but I don't think it's the best resource out there.
- Oxford University's series of podcasts on Approaching Shakespeare. - I've included this even though it doesn't include Hamlet in the hope that it will do before my exam.
- Their series on Elizabethan and Jacobean revenge plays, however does include The Revenger's Tragedy, which is good as there are limited resources on the play.
- Audio and Visual revision aids for Hamlet - mainly included because it's one of the few examples of revision podcasts I could find.
- Get Revising's resources for Hamlet - Get Revising is one of the few revision websites that have been recommended to me by college or school that I have actually found useful.
- Fodor's version of Hamlet in it's entirity - courtesy of Youtube. It's an insane production, mind, but it's not illegally uploaded so it shouldn't be removed.
- Act 1 Scene 1 of Tennant's version - Again, thanks to Youtube. This one is uploaded by a user, so it may be taken down. I'm sure most productions could be found on Youtube if you desperately wanted to see them.
- Litcharts - which includes Hamlet
William Blake - Songs of Innocence and Experience
AQA English Language B
WJEC Psychology - To come at a later date :-P I've had enough for now.
If anyone knows of any other resources, please let me know. I'll try to work out how to make this entry public, too.
