From up to downtime.

I dropped off that load last night at the Schneider drop yard in Knoxville, TN. I didn't even know they had such a thing here! I knew of one in Chattanooga, so I originally thought I was going there, but not so.

The road to get there's a little on the narrow and curvy side, so I went slower than the speed limit to get in, which I'm sure made the vehicles behind me incredibly happy. Made one turn too early, but no biggie since it was a trailer shop and I was able to just turn around a 65ft vehicle and boogie back out.

Bobtailed outta there to the Flying J and waited for the next load. It came in this morning.

First thing I noticed was the ETA was set for Monday! I'm like...uhhhh no way. So I msged in, and told it's an open pickup so just adjust the ETA's and I should be fine. Right?

Wrong. I get down there and am informed the load's not ready till tomorrow. I've called in once, and messaged in once about it, but so far no reply as to what to do. So I'm BACK at the Flying J since it's only ten miles away figuring I'll just go back tomorrow when it is ready.

Thing is though It's also been snow flurries on and off all day. Temperatures have been hovering around 30F(-1C) and so if they go any lower, this stuff is going to start to STICK. If that happens this boy ain't going anywhere. No how, no way. Sigh. Ah, the joys of trucking.

I've been trying to conserve the truck batteries as much as possible. I've unplugged the fridge which by far draws the most current, and am keeping the lights to a minimum. I still may have to idle more than I'd like just to keep them going, but we'll once again see.
