When I saw it in the theater, I was with a couple people my age and two that are 10 years younger than us. There was quite a difference in the reactions that we older folks had compared to the younger ones, especially in certain scenes. I know that's due to us growing up with the show and the movies and them seeing maybe a few of the films.

I found myself being incredibly pissed off at Disney while I was watching because theyown the rights to the Muppets. They had the power to keep making the show, to expose a new generation of kids to the awesomeness that is the Muppets and they squashed it down and hid it away.

I know some of the old school Muppet people were not happy with this film being made (Frank Oz) instead of some other film they'd come up with, but...

on the other hand, I know how hard Jason Segel worked and pushed and how much the Muppets mean to him. He fought so hard to get the movie made. *tips hat to him* You can see it in the film too. You can see how excited he is. It bleeds through into his scenes.

AND the soundtrack was done by Bret from Flight of the Conchords. I've had it on repeat since I got it and I listen to it at work.

One show did come to mind when I was thinking about what's out there now for children's that's funny and not dirty/bad/wrong- The Penguins of Madagascar. Excellent show.

Yeah, I'm totally resentful with Disney that they basically threw the Muppets away after they bought the rights and made a couple films. And I can see why Frank Oz and some of the old crew would be upset. But at this point, it's new Muppets. I'm ridiculously grateful for that. And hopefully this will lead to EVEN MORE NEW MUPPETS. I've got my fingers crossed, anyhow.
