So far the new year is off to an agreeable start.  I got a new stereo for the Mighty Dodge, ordered some red headphones at cut-rate prices off Amazon and watched a few of my favorite episodes of Stargate: SG-1.  If it wasn't for some crappy back pain, the first day of 2011 might have been damn near perfect.

Today I finished my first short story that I've done in almost a decade.  It's called "Death Tide," and in addition to having pirates and magic in it, the story also features a zombie.

It's been sent off for perusal, and I am drinking wine out of the Celebratory Goblet to commemorate the occasion.  Pray for me.
