Appearance: Reminds a lot of people of a puppy dog with soulful hazel eyes and a mop of brown hair that curls just a bit at the ends. A clear boyish face on top of a six-foot-four lean yet muscular frame, which is often covered in button-up shirts, vintage-y jackets and comfortably loose jeans. Equipped with a dazzling nearly-white smile, and a strong jaw, it’s easy to see why he’s liked by just about everyone he meets. He prefers to be clean-shaven, as the stubbly bad boy look is more his brother’s specialty. Guilty of having large feet, but doesn’t let it get to him. Has confidence some of the time, but often questions his motives and second-guesses himself in the end. He’s found to be attractive to the ladies, but due to his past, he usually pushes them away before things get too serious. ♥ // ♥ // ♥
Personality: To put it simply, Sam is like a Rubik cube. Once you think you have him figured out, you realize one little thing is out of place, and it throws everything else out the window. He’s a sweet, compassionate man, who’s become quite jaded in his twenty-four years. Never getting to live the carefree life that most children get to experience, Sam learned from a young age that the monsters in his closet were real. Since his dad handed him a gun to protect himself from the boogey man (who was real, fancy that), Sam hasn’t been quite right. Years spent in Dean’s company have warped his sense of humor, so he’s often making dark sarcastic jokes that some people just don’t get.
That big heart of his is forever getting him in too deep; he’s known to become emotionally involved with every lost cause. Any failure is like a knife in the gut, and he’ll carry it with him for all eternity it seems. Since he can’t let anything go, he has yet to get over the deaths of his mother or his girlfriend. This makes it nearly impossible for him to have relationships with women, as he’s sure that even though Azazel is dead, someone else will come to take them away. He’s quieter than Dean, but then again, most people just aren’t that in your face. Sam’s passionate about research, and would be perfectly content to spend the rest of his life in a library if he could live that way. But books don’t kill the demons, and they certainly won’t save the world. As much as he bitches about Dean’s music, he secretly enjoys it because there is something about Metallica that is so uniquely Dean, all rugged good looks and engine fumes. His determination knows no bounds, as he demonstrates once he finds out that Dean made a deal to bring Sam back from the dead. Every waking moment is spent looking for an answer; delving into musty tomes and dealing with demons, trying to reverse the inevitable.

Strengths: Precognition. His foretelling dreams have helped solved cases in the past, and warned him about future dangers, such as the death of his girlfriend, or other children that Azazel has touched. In extreme situations, like the endangerment of Dean’s life, he has used telekinesis. But it’s a rare thing, one that requires intense emotion and dire circumstances. Due to his protective tattoo, he’s immune to demonic possession; the pentagram was obtained after he was possessed by the demon that took over Meg Masters, and forced him to kill another hunter. After the death of the yellow-eyed demon, Sam “lost” his powers, but Ruby claims they are merely dormant and he’ll have to work to get them active again. Like his brother, he has a very strong love and loyalty for his family - they are first and foremost the most important thing to him. After the death of their father, Dean becomes Sam’s world. Gifted with research skills and the knowledge bred into him as a child, he usually does all the paperwork while Dean deals with (potential) victims. He’s definitely the thinker of the pair, analyzing situations and thinking things through while Dean just rushes in with his guns out and finger on the trigger.
Weaknesses: Lying - he’s definitely not as good as it as his brother is (his lies usually get questionable looks). Dean is his biggest weakness of all. He’d do anything to protect his big brother, even if it means distancing himself at times when he fears he’s putting Dean in danger. An unexplainable fear of spiders - possibly attributed to an unfortunate encounter with a tarantula while hunting in South America with his father and brother at a young age. His personal conviction that he can handle everything on his own, and doesn’t need to rely on Dean to fight his inner demons. Also, in the mornings, he’s quite vulnerable before he has a cup of coffee; he’s quite the caffeine addict. Injury prone since every bad guy wants a piece of the great Sam Winchester, he’s forever being sewn up by Dean.
