ive not been on much recently, ive been tying to save money. this is whats been happening...
weve tried like hell to find jobs, every bar in puerto rico nearly has our number. ive been into the candle shop 3 times to ask about the job there, but each time, the boss hasnt been back to collect all the applications. ive done one days worth of work for a very dubious set up, a TATTOO BAR. how uncool is that? a tattoo studio that doubles up as a bar. and the bloke is an ass. he was so dismissive of my tattoo plans, and kinda rude about the ones i had. but i stuck it out. i stood outside the shop from 9am to 6pm - no rest AT ALL, not even one sit down, and harrassed people to come in for drinks. luckily at this time of year, theyre all scandinavians and germans, so they didnt understand anything i said after good morning/afternoon anyway. so i didnt feel too bad. well, it earned me 35€. which paid for our night out on friday.
we went to bar calipso again. has tapas for dinner. one of them was octopus, which i tried, and was then rather ill yesterday. ick. bar calipso is nice, the owners debs and jim are really friendly (and english! so i can order odd drinks and they understand!) but the clientele is... well... old. apart from me and the boy, the only other under 30 is ace the barman, som of debs, and hes 17. and john does a live performance every friday. lots of kinks tracks and crowded house. like i said, its nice, but every week is kinda getting me down. even a cheesy 80's music bar would do!
but after everything, we might end up back in the uk. my uncle is critically ill with leukemia. i think i will need to be there for my family, especially since its christmas. i know i usually write more in my IAM diary, but this is one thing i dont want to go into on there. i want to keep it seperate. i know alot of my iam friends are going through similar or worse situations, so i dont want to put this on them too. all they need to know is that i might be coming back.
