Nanowrimo preparation

November is approaching, so thoughts on the oncoming Nanowrimo do pop up in my mind.

I have an idea of the story - know the beginning, some clues on the middle, no idea on the end yet.
The biggest puzzle to figure out before next month is how magic works in the setting. I original had some basic idea, but that was horribly unfeministic. I immediately knew I had to change that. It's better now, but I still need to work out the kinks.

Another realisation is that my main character actually isn't very interesting. Things keep happening to her in the story, instead of her taking action. I need to change that, so I've got some ideas, which should give her more zest.

Haven't written a single word yet, I'll be nice and patient. Besides, the prep-work is more fun than the actual writing.
