On Friday May 11, 2007 I got my final grade back for the term and found out that I earned my highest sessional GPA ever. I had a straight A (well... including A-) term!
On Friday May 11, 2007 I found out that I have been accepted into graduate studies at the University of Northern British Colombia (UNBC). I applied for a Masters of Education in Multidisciplinary Leadership with a specialization in curriculum.
WOW
On Friday May 11, 2007 I spent the day with a grin plastered on my face and went through a roller coaster of emotions and thoughts.
I am going to be a graduate student. It doesn’t seem all that long ago that I was trying to figure out whether I would be able to go to university. Now I am about to graduate and pursue a second university degree. I really can’t believe it.
One of my friends commented that I have had the perfect university experience. I had the residence experience, was a super involved student (with positions that even paid once in a while), maintained grades much higher than average, and had a fairly active social life. Is it true? Did I live the ideal university life?
UNBC is in Prince George, British Colombia and the program is two years. I don’t know what to say about the idea of packing a suitcase and flying across Canada to a place that I know nothing about and where I don’t know a single person. Is that crazy? Or is it fantastic?
I’ve been breaking into sporadic tears since I found out. I am just so overwhelmed. Relief, fear, happiness, shock, excitement, etc....
I found out that I got in over the phone and so I don’t have any of the details yet. Realistically, I have a lot of work to do to sort out whether I can actually go in September, especially in terms of finding the finances. However, I am going to deny reality for a few more days and bask in the joy that was Friday May 11, 2007.
