1. We had a little, terrifying, adventure here two weeks ago. Early in the day, I'd brought my herbs in from the back deck and left the screen door open because we've been getting intermittent snow, and I don't like having the screen door frozen closed during the winter (I often throw stale bread out on the back deck for the squirrels). Much, much later in the day, I was making dinner with our friend Ted! who comes over for movies or Dr Who on Sundays. The kitchen got a bit warm, so Cyn opened the back door.
She didn't know that I had left the screen open and I had utterly forgotten.
Worse cat mommies ever.
You can see where this is going. About an hour and a half later, we'd seen the cats while we were watching Dr Who (Zuzu likes to perch behind Ted! and stare at the back of his head), Ted! was getting ready to leave and Cyn was preparing to give the girls their evening meal. She came back to the sitting room and said, "I didn't know the screen door was open and the girls aren't coming to get their dinner."

Almost as soon as we were in the backyard and I called Delia, I heard her high pitched whine meow. She was directly under the deck and our patio table, pressed up against the wall of the house. She, for once, gratefully clambered into my arms and huddled there while we continued looking for Zuzu. As I was dashing into house to secure Delia, I heard a muffled, "Got her!" and Cyn came through back door with Zuzu, the latter's pupils the size of nickles.
So... that was scary. And we're never ever doing that again.
2. Those of you that follow me on the friendface know that I got the news a few weeks ago that My Workplace got orders from On High to end all Term of Project contracts ASAP. So... yeah... December 5th is my last day, six months early on the contract. But hey, at least I get unemployment and since I haven't taken any vacation days, they'll have to pay those out to me.
3. Oh, Cyn and I went up to Pearle Vision and Cyn found some cute frames for me for new glasses (gotta get the most out of that insurance whilst I still have it, right right?). Delia managed to completely freak out one night while we were in bed reading (well, I was reading, she was sleeping) and not only banged and bent the plug on my USB charging cord, but yoinked it out. It was okay for a couple of days but then... no matter what I did, it wouldn't set properly in the socket and wouldn't charge. So I had to order a new cord. On my tablet's website, I can shop/order a cord for $4.99, but when I go to purchase, every single browser balks and says "unsecure website!!! no way!!" and the SAME DAMN CORD on Amazon is $24.99. What? I can deal with a little mark up, but five times the price? Nope. Unfortunately is a proprietary pin plug and ... finally after much research, I found one for $17, which is still kinda shitty but it seems to be working so far. That'll show me for wanting a weird brand of tablet...
... and I haven't got five things to make a post really. I'm still sick, but I'm coping. I've got a couple of my favorite people who've just recently moved into our neighborhood. And hopefully the recent job credits on my resume will get me a new position soon.
