personality: Zoey has always been seen as more of a Slytherin type than a Gryffindor type. It's her harsh personality.
Her father taught her (and her brother) to always speak their minds. If you thought something, you shouldn't lie about it. The truth is always better. Zoey has lived like that since she hit about the age of 12. This made her a hard person to get along with.
It also made her very Gryffindor. She isn't one to plot and scheme like Slytherins. Instead, she is one to stand up for what she thinks. If that means annoying people along the way and making a few "enemies," then that is her cross to bare. Zoey is brave enough to do so.
She will also stand up for who she likes. These people tend to be few and far between, but that doesn't matter. In fact, it makes them more important. THe same goes for her family.

Zoey Danay Ferris was born the second child of Claude and Marcy Ferris. The couple had been married just over 3 years at the time. This just happened to match up to about 7 months before Zoey's older brother was born.
The couple was doomed from the start. Portpatrick was such a small town that there wasn't much money to be made. Claude was in the only real industry there- fishing. He would often times be gone much of the year. Marcy apparently couldn't take this. Neither could she take being at home with two children all alone. Around the time Zoey turned 5 years old (her brother, Jackson, 8), Marcy Ferris ran away with some travelling actor. There hasn't been much of her mentioned since.
All things considered, ZOey was always a bit of a princess. Her father doted on her as much as he could and her brother looked out for her fiercely. "What the lady wants" became a mantra around their house.
When Jackson turned eleven years old, he received a shocking letter accepting him to a magic school. Claude was shocked. He didn't know what this meant. Further inspection proved that Jackson was what they called a "wizard." Claude knew nothing of magic and Marcy was no where around to see if she did or not; but Claude did what he always did and embraced anything that was good for his children.
Zoey felt a horrible void when her older brother was gone. To fill her time, her father put her in dance classes. Zoey picked things up surprisingly quickly. She preferred ballroom dancing to things such as ballet and tap. Tango always fascinated her the most.
During Jackson's second year at Hogwarts, he sent her a very nice birthday present- a puppy. THis puppy, Boone, quickly became Zoey's best friend. With Boone to play with and dances to master, Zoey's time flew until she was also accepted to Hogwarts.
She was sad to leave her father all alone, abandon Boone, and leave her full year dance classes; but Hogwarts seemed fascinating. Zoey was placed in Gryffindor after much debate by the Sorting Hat. At first, she was just a cute little blonde girl, but she soon changed. Zoey started back talking older students (but never prefects or anyone else in power).
The first few years she had friends, but soon many of them decided they could hardly stand her. Zoey was upset about this for a while, but she soon learned to deal. She started focusing more on school and practicing her dancing in unused classrooms. She didn't need everyone else around for any of that.
goals/dreams: Win the tri-city dance competition; become a Muggle Relations Barrister (preferrably as a liason with the Ministry of Magic)
