FIC: Dream Boy (Kirk/Spock) Part 2

Mar 29, 2012 19:43

Title: Dream Boy (Part 2)
Rating: R/NC-17
Word Count: 9,800
Pairings: Kirk/Spock. There are some moments between Gary Mitchell/Kirk, as well as some minor moments of flirtation between Kirk/Pike because that's just how I see their canon relationship. Kirk just flirts with everyone.
Warning: Underage (Kirk is 17, Spock is a few years older)
Summary: A prequel to The Perfect Man. Spock is a cadet on his way to becoming a professor, Jim is a troublesome teen sent to live with Captain Christopher Pike for the summer, this is the story of how they meet and fall for each other. Miscommunications abound.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Trek or it's characters, nor do I claim to.
Author's Notes:
1) The "NOW" sections are in Spock's point of view, the "THEN" sections are from Kirk's perspective. Other than switching between those two times it's all chronological. There is significantly more Kirk perspective than Spock perspective.
2) There are a few minor ( hopefully ignorable) continuity errors between this and The Perfect Man, this story just worked better that way.
3) You don't need to be familiar with The Perfect Man to read this. Like really. You don't. I cringed a lot re-reading it.
4) This is written for
biomath. I am so sorry this is over a year late. Hopefully the fact the I finally delivered and also wrote close to 10,000 words when I only promised 2,000 makes up for it at least a little bit *hides in shame.*

NOW

Spock entered the rooms that Starfleet has given to his mother for the summer as she shared research with them. He paused when he heard voices from what was typically referred to as the living room.

His mother was speaking to his father on the comm unit. Spock took a seat to wait for her. Even though he had proved himself in many since joining Starfleet, he preferred not to face his father when he was experiencing moments of uncertainty, as he was now.

Eventually his mother concluded the call and walked out into the room Spock was sitting in. She seemed somewhat surprised, yet pleased at his presence.

“Hello Spock, I didn’t hear you come in. You know that anything you wish to say to me, you can say to your father as well.”

“So you insist, but I have observed no evidence to support this claim.”

She laughed and took a seat across from him. “So what did you want my advice about?”

“What has led you to the conclusion that I seek your advice?”

She merely raised an eyebrow at him. Spock had to concede that when he did seek her out he often wished to know her opinion on a matter.

Spock pulled out a PADD and handed it to her.

“What’s this?”

“A very complete draft of my final project. I submit it for review soon. I would appreciate your input.”

She leveled a gaze at him, that he suppressed the juvenile urge to shift under.

“I would be happy to help you with your project Spock. I should have notes for you in a couple days.”

“Thank you, mother.”

She read silently for a few moments in which Spock deliberated whether or not to depart, before she spoke in a conversational tone.

“It really is lovely weather today.”

“Indeed,” Spock replied noncommittally.

“I had a nice stroll this morning through the Starfleet courtyard. You know that area they have for outdoor 3D Chess?”

“I am aware of it, yes.”

“Well I saw Jim there playing by himself. He seemed quite hungover.”

Spock didn’t know what response she expected from him. “...Indeed.”

“He’s probably still there.”

“Mother.”

“Spock.”

“If you are only going to offer random observations about people who have observed on the academy campus, then I am going to take my leave.”

She returned to paging through his research.

“Okay. Tell Jim, I say, hi, and that I wish him luck with his finals projects.”

“I am going to take my leave to the research labs.”

His mother just smiled and waved at him. Spock turned sharply and left. And she wondered why he did not visit her more frequently when talking to her was often difficult and unnecessarily confusing. He wondered why she did not simply say what she meant more frequently.

Spock headed straight to the research labs. It was just that a natural path to the research labs was through the courtyard.

THEN

The next day Jim got the grade for his xenobiology test back. He was surprised to see how well he had done despite his distraction over Spock. Gary came up behind him and wrapped his arms around Jim’s waist, his chin on his shoulder.

Gary gave a low whistle. “Nice grade you got there.”

“Thanks.”

“Wanna come over to my place? Riley’s gonna come over too, we’re gonna watch a horror vid.” Gary voice suddenly dipped low, his lips brushing against Jim’s ear, “Although I could always tell Riley to stay home if you wanted me too.”

“Sorry, that sounds fun--”

“Which part?”

“--but I already have some plans,” Jim said thinking of the message Spock had sent him earlier, to meet him at Pike’s house after class. “I could maybe do a horror movie with you and Riley tonight though.”

Gary let go of Jim and sighed. “You let me know.”

“Yup.”

Jim practically ran home. Glad to find Spock already there waiting for him on the porch. Jim went immediately to the kitchen, Spock following him, needing a glass of water after his impromptu sprint home.

“So,” said Jim when he finally had his breath back, “have you come to a decision?”

“I have. I do not believe that it is wise for us to start a romantic relationship.”

Jim felt like he had gotten punched in the gut. “Oh. Do you have a reason?”

“Yes. We are at entirely different points in our lives. You are just figuring out what you want for your future. You need to focus on that. I do not wish the run the risk that you get confused about what you want.”

“You don’t think a relationship would work?”

“I do not.”

“And that means that you don’t even want to try? You don’t want to date me or anything?”

“I do not wish to get involved with you, no.” Spock looked so serious and firm, Jim felt like he was going to throw up.

“And you’re not going to change your mind on this?” Jim asked, just needed the most clarity possible.

“I am not.”

“I think you should leave now.”

“If you could just understand--”

Jim didn’t really want hear any more excuses, not from Spock. “I understand enough. Please leave now.”

Spock nodded and left the kitchen.

The rejection hurt more than he could have imagined, Jim just wanted to feel better. He was calling Gary on his comm before he could think to hard about what he was doing.

“Hey, Gary, you busy?”

“Right now? No. But Jim, if you’re just going to come over to tell me how much you like spending time with Spock, I just can’t.”

“Jim--you sound--are you okay?” Gary asked, his tone as gentle as Jim had ever heard it.

“Gary? Do you really want me? Or is it just because I’m easy?”

“Fuck, Jim,” he said, voice getting rough. “You’re not easy. You tease and you flirt and you don’t do anything about it. And it’s frustrating as hell, but god, I still want you.”

Jim bit his lip. He just wanted to find his shoes and get the hell over to Gary’s right now. Gary would make him feel better. Gary wanted Jim.

“Jimmy?” Gary said, the uncertainty breaking through Jim’s concentration.

“Yeah Gary?” Jim asked, stepping into the kitchen.

“You’re not just doing this because I want it, are you?”

“No. I want it too. I want it a lot. I want you” I want to forget about Spock.

“Good,” Gary breathed, “see you soon Jimmy.”

“Yeah. See you soon.”

Jim ended the call. When he turned around he started in shock at seeing Spock in the kitchen doorway. “Jesus, Spock. I thought I told you to leave.”

Jim tugged his shoes on standing up.

“I heard your call.”

“Congratulations.”

“You already have someone else who you wish to be intimate with?”

“Yeah, that’s right. Just because you don’t want to be with me that, that doesn’t mean that other people don’t. And it’s gonna be without commitment too. I’m gonna let him take me, mark me up, use me. All just for fun.”

Suddenly Jim was slammed back against the kitchen wall. Spock was pressed against every inch of him and kissing Jim like his life depended on it. Jim just gave up and open his mouth up to Spock, spread his legs so that Spock could fit himself between.

Spock pulled his mouth back from Jim’s but kept grinding steadily against him. Jim tilted his head back against the wall and Spock bit kisses against the skin of his neck.

“I lied,” Spock whispered.

“What?” asked Jim.

“I lied. I do want you. So much. I want so much from you. I just need to know that you won’t treat this like your other conquests, like the boy who you were talking to.”

“No never. I would never treat you like that. There’s nothing casual about what I want from you Spock.”

“Good,” Spock said.

Spock licked up Jim’s neck. “And I apologize for my actions. I did not wish to progress to this component of our relationship this quickly but I find that I can not stop. You arouse me more than I have ever felt before.”

“Yeah?”

“I find that I wish to have the experience of giving you an orgasm and seeing how you react.”

“God, Spock. Yes. Fuck. Clothes.”

Jim and Spock pulled each other’s clothes off as quickly as they could, before Jim pulled Spock down onto the floor with him.

Spock arranged them so that were on their sides, facing each other, and with one hand held their cocks together so that they slid against each other as they moved together. Jim ran his hands and mouth over every part of Spock that he could.

Spock held Jim close with a leg over his hips. Spock bit at Jim’s collarbone, neck, and mouth and whispered how good Jim felt and how much he wanted him. Finally it got to be too much and Jim held Spock tight and whimpered as he came all over the two of them. This seemed to trigger Spock’s own orgasm and he let out a low groan as he came.

Spock let go of Jim, who lay back on the floor happily boneless. Spock lowered his head and licked at the come on Jim’s thighs and low on his stomach until he shook.

“Bed,” said Jim, pushing Spock off him.

In complete agreement Spock scooped up Jim and carried him up the stairs to his room.

-----
Jim woke up and stretched, content and well fucked, Spock sleeping soundly beside him. Suddenly Jim was struck with little niggling doubts. Sure Spock just spent the night with Jim, but that was after he was provoked into jumping Jim in the kitchen.

Spock had had time to think over if he wanted Jim and he had decided that he hadn’t. Sure he had changed his mind but... And Jim really wanted to be in a relationship with Spock. It was shocking how much he just wanted to be with Spock. He didn’t just want the sex, he wanted it all. But Spock, Spock hadn’t thought Jim was ready for a mature relationship.

What if he wanted Jim to change?

Fuck.

Jim got out of bed and searched for some clothes before climbing out the window onto the roof. He wanted to be with Spock, but he needed to think.

NOW

His mother’s guess, had proved correct. Jim Kirk was indeed still playing 3D chess against himself. Jim was quite focused on his game, he did not notice Spock, until Spock moved a piece. Only then did Jim look up startled.

“Hey, Spock. Look I am really really sorry about last night. I was drunk and--”

Spock held up a hand. “You came for a reason.”

“No, no. I was just--”

“Stop trying to comfort me with lies, or protect yourself, whatever the thing it is you are trying to accomplish by concealing the truth, you are not doing either of us any favors.”

Jim scrubbed a frustrated hand through his hair. “Look, I don’t know what you want from me here.”

“Tell me something that is true.”

“I don’t know what I want.”

Spock just looked at him.

“Well, I do, I just don’t know if it’s possible. I mean you know how I am, at least a little bit anyway. I don’t think I can ever really change at all. And I would probably need to, I think.”

“I can not think of a reason why you would need to. You operate in an unorthodox manner, but you are quite intelligent and already have friends and family in Starfleet who will support you. In those endeavors it stands to reason that you be quite successful without changing.”

Jim smiled at Spock, it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “And if I wasn’t talking about Starfleet?”

“I can think of no area of your life where change would be required.”

Jim paused for a long time, staring at a spot somewhere to the left of Spock. He gave Jim time to gather his thoughts.

“You wanted--Well, you wanted me in your life rather permanently. If... if I was reading that situation correctly?”

Spock nodded. “You were.”

“Right well. You’re telling me that you wouldn’t want me to change at all?”

To force Jim to look at him. Spock stood directly in front of him and crouched down, looking up at him. “Jim, if I have ever given you cause to feel insecure in my presence, I apologize for that was never my intention. If I was displeased by any of your behavior, I would not have pursued you.”

“Oh. Yeah. Well, you’d probably appreciate if I was less dumb about stuff like this--” Jim gestured between the two of them “--so I’ll try to work on that at least.”

Spock declined to comment, focusing on how Jim was smiling down at him.

Jim tugged at his arm. “Come on, stand up. People are staring.”

Spock stood and gestured at the chess board. “Would you like to play a game?”

“Actually,” said Jim, standing up, “how about we head back to your room and you can show me your bed.”

Spock quickly turned, leading the way. Jim’s laughter following him.

-----

Spock ran his lips up Jim’s sides enjoying the way his breathing hitched. He paused to look up at the boy sprawled out on the bed in front of him. The boy that was his.

“Admiring the view?”

“Yes,” said Spock.

Despite the cocky tone, his answer made Jim blush. Spock bit at his collarbones and curved a hand around his hip, finger tips pressing into the side of his ass. Jim gasped, a hand going to Spock’s hair when Spock began licking over the bite marks he had created.

“How is this going to work?” Jim asked.

Spock paused and raised an eyebrow at Jim.

Jim laughed breathlessly. “No, I know how this works.”

He rolled his hips up into Spock’s. Spock ground back against him, pressing his face against the curve of Jim’s neck as they moved together.

“You had a query?” Spock asked as he pressed a finger into Jim. Jim moaned and scraped his nails down Spock’s back.

“Later,” gasped out Jim, hitched a leg up around Spock’s hips.

Spock licked into his mouth as agreement and lost himself in the body beneath him.

-----

Spock lay flat on his back, Jim curl up against his side, fingers carding through his sweaty hair.

“So--” began Jim, before trailing off.

“Yes?”

“So I know you want commitment, but what does that mean?”

“I will be the only with whom you are involved. You may flirt, to use the slang, as long as your romantic interest is solely with me.”

“Okay, I think I can do that.”

“Good.” Spock pressed a kiss to his forehead and Jim nuzzled against his neck. “I am pleased that you wish to be in a romantic relationship with me.”

“You’re pleased? I’m pleased you want me at all. You’re actually going to come to regret this because you are never getting rid of me now.”

Spock held Jim tighter.

“And I will not come to regret this. Not ever.”

Jim laughed. “That’s what you think now. Just you wait. You will.”

But Spock never did. They were engaged by the end of the year.
