Another AU I'm not writing - McShep
I mentioned in a previous posts that I have AU's that I'm not going to write but that I enjoy tinkering with on paper and in my head.
Fandom: SGA: Atlantis
Pairing: McShep
Details: MusicianGenius!Rodney, Manager!John
Summary: Rodney is a musical genius - composes, plays, performs.... And John is his manager/partner. As the reader finds out at the end, along with John, Rodney's been going deaf and hiding it. In a scene I see in my head very similar to the Beethoven one below, I picture Rodney playing at the piano, resting his head on it and John sort of slowly realizing what's been going on and having flashbacks of times Rodney didn't hear him and passed it off on him being busy or a genius or whatever. And then, as John stands directly behind Rodney, and Rodney finishes playing and it's silent in the room, John says, "Rodney, can you hear me?" AND IT'S SILENT. *insert angst here*
Genesis: 2 big places. 1.Beethoven, obviously and his well-known hearing loss and his extraordinary musical genius. And in particular, this scene from the movie Immortal Beloved
2. Biopic on Fashion Magnate Valentino. I watched this in peices with my mum. Valentino's life partner is also his manager and the man has the PATIENCE. OF. A. SAINT. OMG, he makes it all happen while staying 'hidden' in the background behind the larger than life personality that is Valentino
