ABNA: Second Round

I got cut out at the quarter-final stage of the novel contest. It's O.K. Now I'm free to take this novel to the Writer's Institute next month, during which I'm scheduled to give an 8-minute pitch to an agent. If Getting It Right, my "coming-of-age novel about faith, fear, family, and love in a time of historic cultural upheaval" were still tied up in the Amazon thing, I'd have to work fast to prep my other story, which does not even have a pitch (or a full story) yet, despite it having been in the works for, what, eight years now...

So let's raise a glass to writing stories! (My glass is a mug, and there's coffee in it, but later I'll probably have a gin & tonic.)
