The stomach bug that ate my conference

I'm home from NWSA in Atlanta. I missed a lot of it due to the bug that hit me, rather mildly for the first couple of days and then with a vengeance for the last two. Yikes, that was un-fun. I'm home again now (a day later than planned -- had to postpone my flight home and extend my hotel stay because I wasn't well enough to travel on Sunday) and on the mend, but not really eating yet. Two days ago I never wanted to eat again. Enough said about that.

I did make it to a few panels and plenaries and had a few good connections with people. And the hotel was nice, and the staff even nicer. I was SO grateful for the angel in Guest Services who personally brought ginger ale and saltines to my room on Saturday morning.

Now I'm back on the bunny farm, where Taylor's got a new hutch (a maternity suite), a buck named only Gray Bunny has possibly bred Taylor but probably has the dread Snuffles and will have to go away, mushrooms are growing in coffee grounds (on purpose), and Little Florette's Missing Green Eggs have been found (hidden by the back deck -- the scamp!) (OK, that last was chicken farm).

Also back to parenting, which is rather a shock to the system, but in truth our girl is doing quite well in so many ways. I hope one of those ways is in the realm of dental hygiene, or I am going to cry at her orthodontist appointment tomorrow. And on the other side of the sandwich, the Aged Ps are about to get driven to North Carolina in Brother 4's RV, and I am beside myself with astonishment and having visions of scenes from "Little Miss Sunshine." Brother1 tells me to take a deep breath and relax and let it all unfold. I guess that's all I can do.

Question of the day: If the violin is claimed to have been practiced but no adult was there to hear it, did the violin make a sound?
