Yes yes I know I know. I have much too update so I will break it up into sections. Skip through as you like.

Ireland Trip

For those who don't know, I went to Ireland with my sister, Janice, for a week. The best part, it was totally free! We didn't have to pay for transportation, hotels, breakfast, and even some meals! Here are the highlights from my trip:

~Sat next to a hot and interesting boy on the plan. Oh my luck started early. The airline didn't loose our luggage on the way there either!

~Janice and I ended up in a REALLY nice room in Kilarney. It had a huge sunken in tub, shower, double sinks, a lounging area, a beautiful view over the gardens, and two queen size beds. It was very spiffy.

~We found out about the second day that with our free lunches and dinners here and there through the trip, any alcohol we ordered during our meals was also free. We got tons of free alcohol from the tour group not to mention free drinks from Irish men we met here and there.

~There was only one day that entire week we did not drink. We spent about $600 (between the two of us) on alcohol and got about $1,000 worth of free drinks. Yeah. . .my liver is in detox right now. I've never had so much to drink in my life. And never again!

~We went horseback riding in Kilarney National Park (which is the largest national park on the island). We went riding through the mountains and by some gorgeous lakes. The views were spectacular. I almost lost my camera so I don't have many pictures. Apparently, I can't ride a horse and hold a camera at the same time. *Note to self. This was probably one of my favorite experiences during the trip and one of the top 10 in my life. I will remember this forever! I did pretty well for my first time on a horse.

~We toured some of the neighboring towns, such as Sneem. Saw castles, museums, etc. Saw Ladies View, which is considered one of the best lookout spots in Ireland. It was very beautiful.

~We ate lunch one day at a restaurant right on the coast. My sister and I were the crazy ones who took their boots off and went running through the freezing ocean. It was such a blast! I love that my sister is as crazy and willing as I am! The funniest part was us trying to figure out how to put our boots back on after we mucked up our feet. That was quite a challenge for us! The tour bus had to wait on us a lot during that trip because we would run off to explore things. We're both kinda ADD too.

~We went golfing in Howth, a town on a peninsula. The view was amazing because the golf course was on a cliff overlooking the bay. Neither one of us had every played golf or really knew how to play. We were cracking up so much at each other as we tried to play! But we had a great time. We ate at this really great restaurant in Howth that was right along the bay coastline. The seafood was super fresh and the food was prepared perfectly. That was our best meal there!

~I met a cute boy or two while we were there. I might have kissed one boy but I will NOT go into detail. Sis and I have an agreement that what happened in Ireland, STAYS in Ireland. But we got plenty of free drinks and Janice is famous in Kilarney after we went pub hopping. That is all I'm going to say about that!

~We stayed in Dublin for the second half of the trip. We did a lot of shopping there and I got some neat souvenirs. We went to Trinity College and saw the Book of Kells which was really pretty. We went to the Irish museum. Yes, we are party girls but we like a little culture too! They had a really neat Egyptian exhibit which I could have spent hours in!

~We chatted with as many locals as possible to find the hot spots and we did. Many times, we were the only Americans in a place. No tourist traps for us!

~We partied it up every night. We were the last ones down and the first ones up the whole trip because we didn't want to miss a thing. And we didn't!

~My sister and I had such a blast the entire trip. We bonded some more while we were there too. This is one of the greatest experiences of my life. I will always cherish it. It makes me want to travel so much more! I got so inspired with my photography while I was there. I think I want to do travel photography after I graduate. We shall see!

Student Struck by Truck

For anyone who has not heard, I was hit by a truck last Wednesday. No lie kids.

I was walking across campus (in the crosswalk) after a class when a truck hit me. I wasn't knocked out but I was knocked silly. I was so disoriented after the hit that I couldn't figure out how to get up. My motor skills were shot.

The worst part, I don't remember any of it because the blow to my head short circuited my short term memory. Everything I know is from witness accounts. You know 20 second Rob in the movie, 50 First Dates? I was 5 minute Cheryl. Every 5 minutes or so I would ask where I was and what had happened. I don't remember a thing about the accident, a few hours before, and until the next day after the accident. People like Dawn and Jesse, my brother, Lora, and Andi visited me in the hospital and I have no recollection of it whatsoever. My mom, who stayed with me in the hospital until I got my memory back, says I lost about 36 hours. I got a concussion, a beat up looking face, and a messed up shoulder. Doc says it's too early to tell if I'll have permanent damage, aka chronic migraines for the rest of my life. But it is a possibility. Sucks, huh?

O wait. . .there's more. . .It was a university official who hit me. Yeah, the university is scared I'm gonna sue the pants off of them. I just got the police report and found out the guy drove away after he hit me and claimed he never saw me. I was on his driver side, by the way. And I took his mirror off because of the impact. I know I'm skinny and all, but I'm pretty sure that I make a bigger impact than a june bug when I come in contact with a moving vehicle. My assumption I suppose.

I'm still trying to find out details of the accident. The university is being shifty about everything.

I was also sedated while I was in the hospital because I became "combative." I punched a nurse while I was loopy because she was cutting off my shirt. All those self-defense classes must have really sunken in. Even with no short term memory and little motor skills, I pack a punch. They had to sedate a girl with a major concussion. Now THAT's funny.

I was very comical while I was in the hospital. I kept saying things like, "This blows cock," and "That guy's a cocksucker," all while my professor was there to check on me. I told her, "Don't let the hamster in the hopper hop away." I have no idea what that is suppose to mean. Friends tell me my most memorable saying was, "Why am I naked? Who authorized this and why didn't I get a beer first?" I'm a barrel of laughs I tell you.

I'm doing pretty good now. Still have headaches and dizzy spells but everyday gets a little easier. Hopefully, I'll be back up to my normal Cheryl self by the end of this week! And hopefully, I won't be the center of attention anymore. I'm pretty shy when people walk up to me and want to check out my black eye and busted lip and ask a million questions I just don't know the answer to. I'm just trying to make up all the work I've missed.

So, that's the latest in a nutshell! Picture posts coming soon. I took 700 pics from my Ireland trip. It's taking awhile to sort through.

Peace yo.
