This morning I had probably one of the worst customer service experiences in recent memory. I ordered a breakfast combo meal at Tim Hortons (biscuit sandwich, hash brown, and coffee) plus a bottle of water. The coffee never came, so I stood waiting. Then this conversation ensued

I just don't understand why North American based airlines are so crappy these days..namely United / U.S. Air. I have better experience with Southwest.
One time I was late for my flight and the check-in line was hella long (remind myself to always use the web bag drop service and print my own boarding pass at home).
Finally waited half an hour for my turn to use the check-in self service kiosk, but it wouldn't let me check in any more because my flight was scheduled to depart within the next 30 mins.
Then, There was this huge 300lbs guy (United employee) who looked like a bum walked up to my kiosk and asked me what happaned. I explained the situation and he took my ID and keep swiping it 4 or 5 times (The machine already said I couldn't check in because I was within the 30 mins departure window). (I was thinking "dumbass, don't you know how to read? no matter how many time you swipe my ID it simply wouldn't work").
Without giving me any explanation or what to expect, he directed me to another line (The people-with-problem-boarding-the-plane line), which also was the first class check-in line. I waited another 45 minutes there without knowing what to expect next (are they going to let me board the plane? or put me on the next plane?)
I understand that it was my fault for being late, but where was the customer service there? I'd expect at least be a little courtesy to your customers and explain to them the procedure instead of shoving them over to a corner. Crappy airlines such as United deserves to go bankrupt.
