In a fit of craftyness, brought on no doubt by the week alone practically devoid of human contact, I decided to make a rag rug.

I have a whole bunch of sheets that are still in good condition but they have stains from the bed bug thing that just won't come out. And even though I know on a conscious level that the problem is gone I still look at my sheets every time I get into bed, searching for the tell-tale little black spots. So these sheets I have still have those spots and every single time I put them on my bed it makes me paranoid.

Rather than throw them out (reuse!) I decided to attempt to make a rug out of them.

I spent most of last night cutting two full size sheets into two inch wide strips. And then I spent the rest of the night and most of today sewing the strips end to end to form three very, very, very long strips. I started braiding them in the afternoon. But because the strips are so long and I can't physically move each one every time I braid them I have to stop every couple of minutes to untangle everything.

I think each strip is probably about...85 feet long...maybe. I'm sure my numbers are off. All I know is that I've been braiding for 6 hours and I feel like I haven't made a dent in the giant rolls of fabric.

This rug had better be huge.....Or maybe not. Once I'm done braiding it all together I have to wind the whole long braid into an oval or a circle and then stitch it all together so that it will hold.

And here I thought I would whip this thing together in a couple of hours and have a neat, if useless, little rug.
