I had a really good audition for the conductor of the MN Chorale today. Like the first conductor, she said she couldn't do much for me now, but encouraged me to audition in the spring. She said there are about 50 sopranos on contract and there's not much turnover so it will likely be tough to get in. However, she does get calls from church choir directors looking for soloist/section leaders so she would keep me in mind for that. My accompanist was excellent--a DMA student in collaborative piano. So I will keep her in my PDA for future reference!
Jobs
Teaching--started at the new place last week and I love it! I already have 14 students and I've met most of them. I think it will be really fun. I've worked through two computer programs and am on the third--which is big, so it's taking more time. After that, there are a bunch more. We have worksheets though that help us assign the lessons. That is a life-saver. I have two voice students and the rest are piano.
WS--good news and bad news. The good news is that I get to stay on. The bad news is that I get fewer hours and no chance of getting health insurance. I think last week I worked 10 hours, maybe less. I'm going to have to look for another retail job. *wah* At that rate I can't afford to work for them.
I have my monologue class on Saturday so I have to read some plays. Back to Shakespeare!
