I wrote emails to and made phone calls to both of my Senators, my congresswoman, and the local paper this morning about VA issues and about the treatment of Haitian immigrants that arrive on our shores.
Peeling paint? The least of the problems in the VA hospital system.
Wet-foot/dry-foot? It seems that most people outside of South Florida haven't even heard of the program, but basically, it comes down to sending any Haitian that lands on our soil straight home while allowing any Cuban landing here to apply for and nearly always receive citizenship. And to add to the wackiness, if a Cuban almost gets to shore, even withing a few feet of shore, but doesn't quite make it, he/she is sent directly back to Cuba.
