Welcome to the ___ edition of What the Hell is Hector doing:
Today, the 24th.. well, the 25th now... of July, was les Catacombs in the morning, followed by mass at the Notre Dame (for educational purposes, not religious), and Tour de France in the Evening.
The Catacombs were quite the experience, yet not as creepy as I'd liked it to have been (now that’s grammar for ya). The sight of this incredibly long corridor completely lined with human remains can only be experience first hand. It is the most surreal feeling looking at all those people, and yet its impossible to imagine them as such, for there is just so many bones everywhere! And the quotes one the walls there are the most morbid yet coolest quotes ever. Like: "Imagine in the morning, not reach the night, or at night, not reaching the morning." Except in french of course. Imagine putting that quote in an essay and citing it as a quote from the Catacombs. That would be such an awesome paper. Haha, and the name reminded me of honeycombs which will scar that cereal forever.
Tour de France: ... to tired, will write in detail later: gist, got there, waited 2 hrs for it to start, there were diehard fans that were there since 9 in the morning, and it started at 4. Total we stood for 6 hours straight which was tiring but worth while. Saw Armstrong several times cus the bikers circle the Champs Elysees 8 times. Wow, so he won the 7th time in a row, and he's retiring so we saw the last time he's ever going to race the Tour de France. Really worth it, but can't capture that feeling in under 400 words so this will have to do.
Good night from the other side of the world,
~Hector
