So first of all I would just like to say that Krakow is an amazing city. Even at this time of the year when it's packed with dumb tourists it's really worth your while.
Next, I'd like to talk about the Polish language. I really like it. I've been having a lot of fun trying to read it the past couple of days. It turns out that I can understand quite a bit, but when people speak it, though, it still mostly sounds like sh cheh sheh sheh cheh. You may want to call me ingorant, but I had no idea how many regular-old Polish words have very negative Russian connotations. I'm starting to think it's not an accident. For example, the work for cattle is bydlo, the word for paint is malowati (or something like that), the word for store is sklep, the word for Jew is of course zhyd, and what really kills me is that beauty is uroda, and what percipitated this post is a store that I just walked by in Warsaw called Fabrika Urody.
