Krakow

Woke up way too early due to jet lag.
Last night on our way back to the hostel from sightseeing I had an incredible urge to pee. So I found a dark alley and jumped a low fence next to some sort of a market kiosk shut down for the night. Lavinia was waiting for me in the street. Just then a cavalcade of four or five cars drove by. Lavinia claimed that they were filled with men who were all looking at her very intently as she stood on the streetcorner. We couldn't figure out why. Then we walked around to the other side of the little market square and saw four or five provocatively-dressed young women smoking in a dark archway....
So Krakow is a very lively burgh. There are tons of college students everywhere, and a bar in every basement. All the young people speak English, the restaurants have English menus, yet actual English-speaking tourists are few and far between. What can I say, it's a perfect place for an American tourist like myself. Oh, and the architecture is beautiful. We'll be seeing a whole lot more today.
