He assumed for some strange reason that most people knew that there were androids, or that he was an android. It wasn't anything that he frequently had to fret over, given the number of androids where he was from.

It took a moment for the realization to hit Max though she wasn’t exactly sure what he meant. She’d just thought that it was an odd phrasing that he could heal himself. “Huh? Repair like mechanical repair?”

She looked fit. Reminded him a little of the genetically engineered people from his home, like the heavy-gravity worlders, or the ones with enhanced reflexes and immune systems. Not at all like one of the natural born.

"That's an excellent thing to be concerned about. From what I can tell there aren't a lot of people heading down that would be primarily concerned with mayhem. Even Miss Mellanby, from the background she's from, should mind herself. Or I'm hoping anyway."

She looked normal. He knew not to judge books by their covers (he was a prime example of that) but she got a canid head tilt more characteristic of his android father than the brash human one. "Speaking of which, I don't see any reason you should be uncomfortable."
