The sick bay hadn't seen this much activity in ages. A mysterious disease had begun to take hold of the station, symptoms not corresponding to any known diseases. The mutation into the specific DNA patterning of a young human female seemed especially strange, as it suggested that the infection (if it actually was an infection) was bio-engineered instead of somehow evolving naturally, following the nature of things throughout the universe. There had already been deaths, and the burgeoning crisis would only get worse if not dealt with.
Meanwhile, the real Peri Brown, after a day or so of exploring the station without much luck in finding the Doctor but managing to spread the virus handily across the main levels took to waiting around the TARDIS. She was pretty sure the Doctor would show up sooner or later to tend to his ship. She just had to be there when he did.
