I'm still in the flower-pattered flannel PJs B made me for Christmas, so that's a good start to 2009. We had a bonfire last night, although it was very wet and the wood sizzled instead of burning, and roasted marshmallows. I got to kiss B on the stroke of midnight, for the first time.
Apparently it's a New Year's tradition in Buzzy's family to talk about how the last year has gone and our goals for the next year. As you can tell, I've been feeling rather down lately, so it wasn't a happy discussion for me. This past year has been a reality check about how far I am from accomplishing my long-term goals. Having a fulfilling career, not to mention a house and kids someday, seems cruelly impossible. But here are some things I would like to do in 2009.
Start going to church again. Especially since there's
one I've really been wanting to check out just down the street, for crying out loud.
Get a job that actually uses my talents and skills, at least moreso than the one I'm in now.
Support B in every possible way, and be mindful of how my attitude affects her.
Practice the ukelele I was given for Christmas.
Keep my Cooking Without Recipes group going.
Start a blog with more professional-grade writing.
Do more things that make me deeply happy, and keep in touch with the people who matter the most.
Organize activities where my friends can get together (like teatime, crafting, etc.), and get out to explore the city more.
