Today Buzzy and I got approved for an apartment! Our first love nest! It's not somewhere we're hoping to stay for too long, but it should be a nice placeholder while we get stable employment and look for something better. It's a studio, but we're small and our major possessions are a bed and a loveseat. Walk-through closet, fair-sized kitchen (although it has a dinky stove/oven, which I have termed "the Barbie stove"), and a bathroom with an actual bathtub. And it's smack dab in the middle of the Hawthorne district, one of Portland's cutest, funkiest neighborhoods, just a short bus ride from downtown.
