Finished going through the entirety of How to Read 13 yesterday...I loved it; information-overload opportunities are always going to be something I'll jump on the chance to geek out over, but...there were some things I greatly disliked about that book.

All the chances they had to give backstory on...characters, and Wammy House...and then not ( Read more... )

oh, man, i have no one to discuss dn with either & it drives me nuts. all i post about anymore is dn-related stuff & i'm just sure all of my friends are sitting back going " ... yeah, uh huh, sure." *eyeroll*

Cool, I'll friend you, I love discussions on that sort of thing, but got into it too late for the first round. I mean, there's always Round 2 what with the dub, but...a lot of those fans are idiots. :o

i literally got into death note three weeks ago. downloaded fansubs, watched the whole thing in a matter of days.

& yes, agreed - a lot of fans are idiots. eep.

i just got a copy of how to read yesterday ... not very far into it. but i've actually read that your complaints with it are fairly common ... i.e., lots of info about stuff we already know, not much further explanation into what we don't.

we can always hold out hope for another book, i guess!

There wasn't enough on Wammy's House... T_T I really would've liked to see how their system worked, and how things changed with each group, since from the sounds of it, by Mello and Near's time, they were the fourth generation...and it's implied the first, B's generation, was alphabetized, which clearly was no longer the case by present-time...
