It is better to be interested than annoyed
I had reached my limit of annoyance with the incessant and repetetive Christmas songs on the Muzak feed at work.
I like tracking things. I like making marks and finding averages and rates of change and creating statistics that are technically correct but misleading and ultimately useless. It's the only time I have fun with math.
And so, in an effort to become interested in the Christmas Muzak rather than being annoyed with it, I tracked the occurence of Little Drummer Boy. I worked nine and a half hours yesterday. Little Drummer Boy came on 14 times. I worked six and a half hours today, and Little Drummer Boy came on only eight times. So there's good news. We're on a downward trend.
