BIG DAMN SPN S3 Score Post [DOWNLOADS]

Aug 13, 2008 11:27

I wasn’t going to even touch S3. Not beyond the Dean Theme. I never did get S2’s Score Post finished. [Mostly due to getting half the season cut and then loosing it all when my HD died on me, of course.] But I admit, I like having an audio recap of a season of my favorite tv shows. It becomes convenient, instead of taking out the time to rewatch a ( Read more... )

Awesome! Thank you so much for putting this together and sharing with us! ♥
I'm downloading the files right now and I also enjoyed reading your entry and thoughts on the score *memming*.

I'm also about 99.99% sure that the Ghostfacers' "Power Walk" from 3.13 is not score either, but I haven't heard anyone ID it yet, so I clipped it anyway.

Do you mean the guitar riffs when they're setting up? That's from the song "Hocus Pocus" by Focus...It's in my music post, so you can DL and let me know, because if there's another song, I'll get right on that!

All mp3s have been volume boosted to match the levels of normal songs, so they can be added to playlists with the season's soundtrack.

YOU=AMAZING. FOR SERIOUS.

I'm still working through this epic post, but as always, a GORGEOUS and insightful job on your part. It's a most pleasurable reading experience. :)

SARAH! YAY! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! It was hard writing this balancing the analytical and critical, but its good to hear it makes some semblance of sense! The volume booster was totally a must for me this time around, that was the one thing I regretted with my first score post, that I didn't realize how different the audio levels were. Oh, and hope you don't mind me using your music post for that link. I can't bare anyone not having the soundtrack to go along with this, and you have the best compilation around.

Oh, no, it's the one where they first get out of their itty bitty little car, and they're walking with their briefcases in that hysterical macho slow mo walk. It's a western sort of score, close to the Rodriquez score really, and it might even be in that, Sgrricia apparently adores the guy or something, so it's possible, but I haven't looked through anything yet to find out.

WOW. This is a thing of serious beauty. And a surprise, as well! I wasn't expecting you'd be in to the score enough to put this together given the drop in quality.

Is it possible that budget cuts also played a part in the score not being as good this season, even though it was the same two composers?

Oh, oh! Agreed about Bedtime Stories. That score reminded me of how much you can be pulled in to the world of an individual episode just by the music. I'm gonna go back and get out Jus in Belo and Fresh Blood just for the scores now. *g*

BUT. The upcoming season sounds to be, from all accounts, pulling out ALL THE STOPS.

JALJLA SO EXCITED!

I'm gonna go listen to your music rips now. BLESS YOU.

ETA: OKAY, THE SCORE FOR THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN IS SO MUCH PRETTIER THAN I REMEMBERED. The end of Parting Words after Bobby says "Catch you on the next one". UGH. CHILLS.

Ha, would it be horrible to say half the reason I wanted to cut this season was because I wanted to point out, hi, you guys can do better? Yea. No, actually, I just started going through the season to try and see why and where it went wrong, and realized there were actually a number of beauties. I actually went and clipped alot that are kinda subpar score-wise, but I kept them for the moment, you know? And it kinda helps comparing the difference between the two seasons? Idk, I'm just crazy, I guess.

HAHA, RIGHT? Blame Mag 7 for this whole entire post. It's ridiculous how many I actually had cut for that first ep alone, I ended up nixing at least half. But I just adore Parting Words. I really wish we had a clean version of it.
