I've been casually cruising the classifieds lately, browsing for apartments, or efficiencies. Cheapest thing yet was a one-bedroom dwelling for $750/mo. w/ hot water n' heat included, so I had a looky-loo @ her today and snarled "ew, no thanks" in a heartbeat.
It wasn't just the heavy, stale odor of old lady that got to me, it was the fact that I'd be shelling out $750/mo. for some lil' one-room shithole...that also reeks of old lady.
Plus, I'd have an old lady neighbor, apparently. She (and her cat) checked me out suspiciously as the landlord let me in. Old ladies can't stand noise after 5 p.m. Old ladies snoop, and spy, and stalk, and talk to the other tenants. And, most of all, y'all--old ladies smell. They smell so bad.
Back to the listings I go.
