OMG I AM AWESOME!
At the connecticut faire, I was looking at medieval style tunics, but there wasn't anything I liked under sixty bucks, so I decided to go buy some fabric and make my own. I managed to find a 20 dollar piece of wool that was more than I needed for the tunic. I found all sorts of helpful websites for tunic-making. Then I made the tunic and it fit and looked not too sloppy, and I hemmed it well and everything.
But the really awesome part was when I was trying on my new medieval outfit with this tunic, I decided I needed to have something on my head. I was wrapping this random piece of flannel pillowcase around my head when I said "What I really need is a coif, someday I'll get me one of those."
Suddenly the wacky idea came through my head that while the sewing machine was out, I might as well try to make a really sloppy coif out of this pillowcase. So I started snipping and sewing, eyeballing my fencing hood as a reference.
Then I put it on AND IT FIT AND LOOKED GOOD!
I am so awesome. I look medieval.
