Hi, all. So I finally made it out of New York. Five hour flight on Monday night. Got into Portland early! I was still exhausted by the time I got to the hostel so I went straight to bed. Next morning I woke up at 8:20 to check in and take a shower. I then wandered up and down Hawthorne Blvd, found a faux-diner for breakfast. Mmmm, oatmeal. Cute waitress but she looked grouchy and not in a I-need-a-hug sort of way. I also found an awesome dollar store. One of my other days off activities is routing out dollar stores. Yay. This one has pirate eye patches! And pencils. No belts, unfortunately, and that's what I was actually looking for. Before I could leave the store the owner said I had to throw an egg and handed me this ball of gelatinous gooiness. Threw it against a window and it looked like a fried egg. Sweet. She also handed me a rubber chicken to squeeze-- out of it's rear came another egg. Whoa. After the dollar store, I wandered into a vintage type shop to make serious my search for a belt. Found three there I wanted. Bought the checkered webbed one. Figure it'll make a good belt for my rig in Michigan. I eventually made my way to Union Station to catch a bus down to Eugene. Despite the screaming children on the bus, I managed to talk to Zoe for an hour on my cellmaphone. Hung up thinking "Can't you people go for more than an hour without your technology?!" I fear I was *that* person.

I asked Amber to look at my arm long distance with her magical Reiki powers. She says it looks all green and slimy and mossy inside. She then asked if I pulled a tendon. I am now convinced that I strained or pulled or something'd a tendon in my arm. I spent awhile last night defrosting everything in Dana's freezer while icing my arm.

There's a little boy running around campus saying "choo choo" wearing a Superman shirt. I used to have that shirt. And by used to I mean last year. ADORABLE.

Since getting here yesterday, Dana and I have wandered around downtown, introduced me to her puppies, fed me and hydrated me, and watched Invader Zim. She has a giant stuffed Gir (the same one as mine only humungafied).

Currently, she's at work and I'm sitting on the campus lawn. It's fifth week here so people are still pretty relaxed. And it's sunny. Yes, UofO os also on the quarter system. Didn't think anyone else had it, did ya? A cute guy went by in a golf cart. People here clearly pay more attention to getting dressed than the people in Chicago (except for Tabby). Maybe I'm mis-interpreting the being from Oregon look as a look....

There's a small fluffy white dog racing around the lawn, clearly extremely happy to be out in the sun, on grass, running. It's name is Tofu.

OK, time to go find a cafe to sit in. I'm hungry and uncaffienated. And I have to pee.
